Fishing in Arakawa-river, Spring 2013

Last weekend, my fishing trip headed to Arakawa-river area to see if I could expect to get any good fish.

Since the spawning season seems to be almost over in the area, no wonder my expectation to catch after-spawned bass was extremely high!!

The results were... I got several bites from bluegills, but not from basses...

Before the sunset around 18 o’clock, I finally caught a baby bass...(a picture below)

I saw some big basses schooling in the water, which I could have a high hope for getting any big one next time.

Lure: Soul shad by Jackall, Gary worms

Spring season 2013 in Saitama Prefecture!!

Last Sunday, it was such a good weather to go out for bass-fishing that I couldn’t help grabbing tackles even after hard work on the past weekdays.

This time, where I went was a small pond in Saitama Prefecture, called “Shibayama pond”. “Sibayama pond” is located in the northeast region of Saitama Prefecture. It is originally used as agricultural water supply around the area. It’s small but has considerable variation of its land features.

Shibayama pond
I have been here several times for fishing in this pond and caught nothing..., had tough time so far. But, not this time, some miracles??? happened and caught one!!.

30cm, average size in this pond

Golden Week 2

Golden Week 2 (Arakawa-river)
On the last day of the Golden Week, Sunday May 6th, I went to Arakawa-river if I could enjoy spring bass-fishing.
The weather was so nice that I felt good out there doing fishing.
Water in the river was muddy on that day due to heavy rain a couple of days ago, so I had a little difficult time fishing.
I mainly tried shad-lures expecting to get some reaction-bites from the fish because soft lures like worms didn’t work at all.

I finally got about 35cm bass with a “Soul-shad” lure (see the photo video posted below). That was the first bass that I caught in this river this fishing season!!

Lures: Soul-shad, by Jackall, Super-sledge, by Evergreen
Reels: Abu Garcia Revo SX KTF(too heavy…)

A big one and DAIWA Pixy 68L

The season of cherry blossoms is almost over in my area, and the real bass-fishing season just began.
The other day, I just went to a small lake in Gunma prefecture, which is located to the north of Tokyo, to check if we could enjoy bass-fishing.

Cherry blossoms have almost fallen・・・it’s sad to see them fallen, but it tells us that fishing season has started as well!!
Look at this!! 50cm!!
Lure: 3 inches Yamasenko (Gary Yamamoto)

Reel: Daiwa Pixy 68L
I’m totally hooked on “bait-finesse” fishing style...

My home field, Ara-kawa river 2

One autumn day,  but it was so hot like a summer day!!
however, I feel like autumn is coming soon as you see
the pictures below...

42cm!! a good fish!!

35cm !! good fight!!

one more!! 33cm!!

Ever Green International
Combat Crank Bait FSR (Flat Side Crank Bait)

I got those three above with the crank bait by EVERGREEN. That means a good fishing season is coming after a "hot, hot" summer because the fish is quite active attacking the lure and the water temperature of the river has been getting suitable for the fish to survive!!

“My home field”, Ara-kawa River, Bass-fishing!!

Ara-kawa River runs from Saitama prefecture, where I live, through Tokyo-metropolitans into Tokyo bay.
Bass-fishing has been popular in this river for more than 20 years.
I got the big one above, 45 cm, the first fish in this season. Well, it seems a little bit
earlier to get into the spawning season this year…
Lure: Jackall "Bling55"produced by Ken Iyobe, Awesome!!
